Upper St. Clair Baseball Field Closed Due To Mine Subsidence

UPPER SAINT CLAIR (KDKA) – A baseball field in Upper St. Clair could remain closed for the summer due to a mine subsidence.

According to the Observer-Reporter, 60 square-yards of a baseball field at Boyce-Mayview Park has sunk about three feet so far.

Township officials are currently working with the Department of Environmental Protection. They will monitor the field for at least a week before further plans will be explored.

As for the teams that use the field, officials are working to reschedule the games at nearby fields.
