BRIGHTON HEIGHTS (KDKA) – Pittsburgh Police have arrested a 19-year-old man for robbery, assault and criminal mischief.
Police say Darius Anthony Rain broke into the Rite Aid Pharmacy on Brighton Road in Brighton Heights early Tuesday morning.
The manager was working inside the closed store around 4:45 a.m. when he heard pounding on the front door. The front window was smashed before the manager could reach the front of the store.

Police say Rain forced open the door, entered the store and began punching the manager. The victim was struck at least eight times in the face. There was a brief struggle between the manager and Rain. Eventually, the manager was able to escape and run outside.
Police say Rain stayed inside the store, causing extensive damage to several cash registers and destroying about $2,000 in merchandise.
