Alerts Remain In Effect As More Severe Weather Moves Into Area

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Severe weather moved through the area last night and more is on the way today.

According to the National Weather Service, a Flash Flood Watch remains in effect until 11 a.m. for parts of the area.

In Allegheny County, the alert is in effect for Allegheny, Beaver, Greene and Washington counties.

In Ohio, the alert is in effect for Carroll, Columbiana and Jefferson counties.

In West Virginia, Brooke, Hancock and Ohio counties are affected.

Parts of West Virginia are under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch.

According to KDKA-TV meteorologist Dennis Bowman, more storms started to move into the area just before 7 a.m.

These storms can produce cloud to ground lighting and heavy rain.

As a reminder, lightning can reach out 10 miles from where it’s actually raining. So, if you hear thunder, head indoors.
