Study: Pittsburgh Drivers Spend Nearly 3 Days Stuck In Traffic Per Year

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – According to a new study, Pittsburgh drivers spend nearly three-full days a year stuck in traffic.

TomTom released its fifth annual traffic index measuring traffic congestion in over 200 cities worldwide.

Pittsburgh took the 26th spot in the study’s rankings of the most traffic congested U.S. cities.

The study also showed Pittsburgh area drivers had at least a 30-minute commute, which is a two-percent increase over the previous study.

Los Angeles took the top spot for worst traffic in America.

Other key highlights from the 2014 TomTom Traffic index show the worst commutes in the Pittsburgh area happen Tuesday morning and Thursday evening.

The best commutes are Friday morning, and Monday evening.

The most congested day from 2014 happened on January 21st, that’s when snow showers made driving difficult.
