Another Record Falls, But Warmer Temps Expected Next Week

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The temperature plummeted overnight and another record has fallen along with it.

The previous record low for March 6 was 2 degrees, which was set all the way back in 1901.

According to KDKA-TV Meteorologist Dennis Bowman, we broke that record this morning when temperatures dropped to minus-3.

High pressure moved into the area, which kicked out the clouds. It made for a great viewing of a full moon, but it allowed for the atmosphere to become extremely cold with clear skies and calm winds.

Today’s high will be 25 degrees with a low of 17.

However, it’s not all bad and a glimmer of hope – in the form of a warming trend – is on the horizon.

This weekend, we will see high temperatures of 38 degrees and 42 degrees respectively. A snow shower is possible on Sunday, but…
