SPRINGDALE (KDKA)- A police officer had to be cut out of his car after a violent crash in Springdale.
The officer was on the way to a call when he lost control of his squad car. The car slid and the officer turned to avoid a pole.
As a result, the cruiser ended up going through a parking lot and slamming into the River Valley Veterinary Hospital on Pittsburgh Street.

“I heard him, I heard him coming,” said witness Larry Roche. “I watched him go right into that building and I thought, ‘Man, that’s not professional.'”
The police car hit a fence and busted through the wall of the animal hospital. The officer was trapped inside the car.
Rescue crews had to cut the officer out and he’s expected to be okay.
Police are investigating the crash.
