Tractor-Trailer Crash Closes Part Of Eastbound Turnpike

MONROEVILLE (KDKA) –A section of the Pennsylvania Turnpike between Monroeville and New Stanton is closed because of an accident.

According to Turnpike officials, the accident happened in the eastbound lanes at mile marker 58.2 around 6:40 a.m.

A tractor-trailer hauling calcium overturned, but no other vehicles were involved.

Fortunately, there are no reported injuries.

However, the wreckage is blocking all lanes in the area.

For those traveling east, the recommended detour is as follows:

Route 22 East (10.3 miles) to Toll 66 South (13.1 miles) to New Stanton Interchange to reenter the Turnpike.
