Sharon Woman Charged, Accused Of “Intentionally” Starving Animals

HERMITAGE (KDKA) — Humane officials have filed charges against a Mercer County woman who they say intentionally starved three dogs and a cat.

Cortney Kishton, of Sharon, is facing four counts of animal cruelty.

According to the Humane Society of Mercer County, Kishton turned over two of the dogs to a relative on Jan. 30. Both were emaciated and rushed to an emergency veterinary facility.

Officials say one of the dogs had to be resuscitated.

On that same day, a humane officer served a warrant at Kishton’s home and removed another emaciated dog, a Lab mix.
