String Of Mt. Washington Car Break-ins Being Investigated

MOUNT WASHINGTON (KDKA) – Police are investigating a string of car break-ins in Mt. Washington.

The damage is obvious along Ruth Street, where several cars were broken into.

In most of the cases, nothing was taken.

Janet Salinshick already has plastic up over her passenger side window.

She says her center console was rummaged through, her glove compartment was dumped out, but not even her GPS was stolen.

“Nothing is missing that I can tell. I mean, I’m not one that ever leaves money or anything in the car. To me it looks like just a bunch of vandalism and property destruction, she says.

Police say the windows on nearly a dozen vehicles were smashed sometime overnight or early this morning.

At least six vehicles were targeted on Westwood Street alone.
